A Panoramic View of the Himalayas

The Himalayas

Very few photographs can do this view true justice. The original is a panoramic view taken with a Samsung SlimZoon 1150 camera (which is fine for mere normal photographs but clearly stretched on this occasion) from a Pass called Gaga near Nahnital.

The clouds are streaming off the peaks of part of the Himalayan range which was at a distance of around 75 km The white spots on the hills in the foreground are houses (well huts actually) hanging onto the hillside. Life is hard in this part of the world..

This photograph was taken just after traversing a mountain pass in a small taxi and was the my first view of this magnificent range. The air was cool, the visibility brilliant, the atmosphere awesome.
